Bridging Pixels and Perception

Welcome! I’m Kieran Saunders, a Computer Vision PhD student at Aston University diving deep into the world of Self-Supervised Monocular Depth Estimation. My passion lies in teaching machines to perceive depth and reconstruct the 3D world from simple 2D images – turning flat pixels into rich spatial understanding.

My journey started with a BSc in Mathematics, building a strong foundation for tackling complex visual problems. Now, I focus on creating robust algorithms that can ‘see’ clearly, even when the weather turns foul or the lighting fades, pushing the boundaries of applications like autonomous driving, immersive VR/AR, and underwater robotics.

I’ve had the privilege of sharing my work at top-tier conferences like ICCV and BMVC, translating challenging research into tangible progress. Explore my site to learn more about my projects and publications!
